Let us honor women by clothing them with dignity and care.
The Dignity Nighty Project is a simple and practical initiative of the Paalam Transformation Foundation. Its purpose is to bring dignity, hygiene, and comfort to women and girls living in shelters, care homes, hostels, and similar residential spaces — while also creating livelihood for women who stitch these nighties through their skills.
This project was born from a quiet reflection.
We wanted to do something meaningful.
Something that would restore respect.
Something that would tell women and girls they are valued.
Not through sympathy.
Not through charity alone.
But through a thoughtful, useful action that honors human dignity.
Why Clothing Matters
Clothing is not just a basic need. It shapes how a person feels about themselves.
Clean, comfortable clothing brings:
- Self-respect
- Better hygiene
- Confidence in daily living
For many women and girls living in residential homes, shelters, and hostels, access to proper clothing is limited.
The Dignity Nighty Project responds to this need with care, simplicity, and structure.
How the Project Works
This project connects women to women.
1. Women in our communities stitch high-quality nighties using their sewing skills.
2. These nighties are distributed to women and girls living in shelters, care homes, and hostels.
So in one action:
One woman earns with dignity.
Another woman receives with dignity.
It is a circle of respect, responsibility,
and shared humanity.
Our Goal for 2026
